Thassos Notos-South beach
First year on Thassos we haven’t been there. I can’t remember why. Probably we thought it is small and not worth visiting, so we left it for some other time.
The beach is more popular under the name Notos than South beach. It is located only few kilometers from Potos, and can be reached from the main road.
Notos beach has its parking right beside the road, but there is only space for a few vehicles. The beach is just beneath the road but only way to get there is a terrible steep footpath, and many people give up after seeing how hard is to get down.
Notos is often visited by couples and younger people without children, and if you are not fan of crowd it’s perfect spot for sunbathing all day.
There is no bar on the beach but you can rent sunbeds and umbrella. One guy will come from nowhere and after you pay him, do not hestitate to ask him if you need anything else, drinks or food.
The beach is facing west and it’s hidden from wind. We had one really windy day and only place where we could swim on whole island without anoying waves was Notos.
I forgot to say Notos is a narrow pebble beach with beautiful clean water. The rocks are surrounding this beach and also it’s an excellent place if you like to dive.
It does not offer too much activities, but this lovely place is definetly worth visiting.
